Lost in Starlight Korean Animated Film Debuts on Netflix on May 30
Netflix has released a new teaser visual and trailer for the upcoming Korean animated film Lost in Starlight, which will debut on the streaming service on May 30, 2025.
The new visual and trailer showcase the relationship between two lovers under a pink sun and futuristic setting.

Netflix states that it will be the “first-ever Korean original animated film” to be produced and released by the company. It is directed by Han Ji-won, who helmed the 2023 animated short The Sea on the Day When the Magic Returns and the 2023 Korean Girls’ Love animated film The Summer.
Actors Kim Tae-ri and Hong Kyung will be voicing the film’s main characters Nan-young and Jay, respectively.
Netflix describes the main premise of Lost in Starlight as:
Set in 2050, Lost in Starlight tells the story of an astronaut dreaming of Mars and a musician with a broken dream who find each other among the stars, guided by their hopes and love for one another.
The Korea Times reported last October that Lost in Starlight will be one of seven Korean films Netflix plans to release throughout 2025.
Variety also reported earlier this week that the South Korean government’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will invest in a US$1 billion investment strategy to reform its animation industry and diversify its audience.
