Little Shark’s Day Out Reveals New Trailer, More Cast & August 22 Premiere
The first new main trailer for the upcoming Little Shark’s Day Out anime film has been revealed, which confirmed the addition of three new cast members and a Japanese premiere date on August 22, 2025.
The three additional cast members include Toshiya Miyata as Big Brother Salaryman, Akira Takano as Mr. Bartender, and Kazuto Mokudai as Mr. Host.



They join the film’s main voice cast that stars:
- • Kana Hanazawa as Kozame-chan
- • Megumi Han as Anko-chan
- • Misaki Kuno as Usame-chan
- • Yuichiro Umehara as Man with a Mohawk
- • Natsuki Hanae as Haruto
Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei) is directing the new anime film, with Hiroaki Nagashima as screenwriter and scriptwriter (who was the scriptwriter for the short anime series), Ayumi Takeuchi (My Happy Marriage key animation) as character designer, Kisuke Koizumi (My Happy Marriage) as sound director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Love Live! Superstar!!) as music composer. ENGI is in charge of the film’s animation production after working on the short series.
All 60 short episodes of the Little Shark’s Day Out web anime series are available on YouTube with English subtitles.
The anime is based on a digital manga series by Penguin Box, which was first uploaded on their Twitter in June 2021. It was later published in Enterbrain’s Aokishi magazine on October 20, 2021 under the Kitora imprint. Six tankobon volumes have been released as of December 2024.

The anime film follows Kozame-chan’s journey to the big city, after being dazzled by a flashy poster in front of the train station. She boards the train and embarks to the bright, noisy, crowded city for another big adventure, meeting many new friends along the way.
