DAN DA DAN Season 2’s 1st Trailer Shows Okarun vs Jiji Battle
The first DAN DA DAN Season 2 trailer has been released, previewing more of Momo, Okarun, and Jiji’s current predicament and a powered-up football rematch between the two boys.
The new season is set to premiere on Japanese television and on Netflix on July 3 (Crunchyroll will also begin streaming it in July). Before that, the first three episodes will receive a worldwide theatrical screening, starting in May.
DAN DA DAN is based on the Shueisha-published sci-fi occult manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, which debuted on Shonen Jump+ in 2021 and has 19 tankoubon volumes as of April 2025. Viz Media describes the manga as:
Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong—Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and oddly horny aliens and spirits?
Season 1 of the anime aired during the Fall 2024 anime season.
